Welcome to the Wapsie Valley Schools' Warrior Way home page. The Warrior Way is a project dedicated to clearly identifying the kinds of behavior that we expect from our students, reinforcing that behavior, and establishing a common language among staff, students, and community members to describe that behavior. There are five key components to the Warrior Way: Be kind, be respectful, be responsible, be safe, and always do your best.
Staff members have participated in training, led by teacher leadership teams in our district, to learn about Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) and the Olweus Anti-bullying Program. Components of each program have helped us to shape our "Be Statements."
These expectations are demonstrated, exhibited, and reinforced with all students and staff in grades K-12 at Wapsie Valley Schools.
We want to describe clearly for our students how we expect them to behave and interact with others. In order to do that, our staff has created lessons that help to explain what appropriate behavior looks like and sounds like. The following is an example of what we call our "Be Lessons."

A Safe, Secure, Welcoming Environment
It's important to all of us that students feel safe, secure, and welcome in our schools. When those needs are met, students can focus their energy and attention on learning. The Warrior Way also addresses bullying behavior, and our students are working on following these key strategies:
If you or your child knows someone who is being bullied, please tell an adult at school. If you'd like to file a formal complaint regarding bullying or harassment, the following form will help you to do so.
